As hospital systems continue to combat COVID-19 while preventing the transmission of other healthcare-associated infections (HAI), ultraviolet (UV) room disinfection can be a valuable tool to improve patient outcomes. To achieve the maximum benefit from UV room disinfection, a proven, effective UV device must be implemented properly. This program will review the core elements of an effective UV disinfection program including current information on the challenge of preventing HAI, current evidence related to true UV device efficacy, and (3) best practices for efficient UV application and implementation. Key in-facility use sites, the value of a multidisciplinary collaboration, and device utilization metrics will also be discussed. The goal of this webinar is to help healthcare professionals achieve better patient outcomes using UV room disinfection.
